Montreal UQAM win FISU 3x3 World University League, earn ticket to FIBA 3x3 All Stars

XIAMEN (FISU 3x3 World University League) – Montreal UQAM (Université du Québec à Montréal) became the first team to qualify to the 2015 FIBA 3x3 All Stars after winning the FISU 3x3 World University League in Xiamen, China on 11 October.

The spectacular Canadian team remained undefeated during the tournament and showed their mental strength in the final in a hard-fought come-back win against Bordeaux (FRA).

The 2.08m Rudolphe Joly was named MVP of the tournament. The team also featured Kewyn Blain, Greishe Clerjuste and Davidson Joseph.

Montreal UQAM will be the second Canadian team to play at the FIBA 3x3 All Stars, after Saskatoon finished 6th last season.

The third edition of the FIBA 3x3 All Stars will be played in Doha, Qatar on 11 December 2015.

Team TUFE (CHN) won the women’s tournament of the FISU 3x3 World University League, defeating PCCUE (TPE) in the final. 2015 FIBA Asia Women’s basketball championship runner-up Di Wu was named MVP.

In total 21 universities from 11 countries and all continents participated in the first-ever edition of the FISU 3x3 World University League.
