Egypt's Ibrahim and Awad top all scorers on Day 1 of FIBA 3x3 Africa Cup 2017

LOME (FIBA 3x3 Africa Cup 2017) – Two Egyptians made their presence felt at the ongoing FIBA 3x3 Africa Cup 2017 in Lome, Togo as they topped all scorers on Day 1 in the Men and Women categories.

Ramy Ibrahim made good use of his height at 7ft 9inches (2. 03m) to intimidate his opponents scoring 14 points in 2 games while his closest rival was Traore Cheick Tidiane of Cote d'Ivoire with 11 points also in 2 games. Mali duo of Mamadou Keita and Hamma Kone followed with 10 points apiece.

In the women's category, Egypt’s Mennatalla Awad was awesome in all four games that she played scoring a total of 24 points.

The 26-year-old scored just 2 points more than Nigeria’s Nkechi Akashili and Afetse Elise of Togo who had 22 points apiece while Mali’s Djeneba Ndiaye scored 20 points.
