Lipik 3x3 Challenger Preview: Can Novi Sad Al Wahda make history?

30 Jun 2017

LIPIK (3x3 Challenger) - Two-time FIBA 3x3 World Tour winners Novi Sad Al Wahda (UAE) have a chance to make history by qualifying to each one of the 7 World Tour Masters as they prepare for a loaded Cedevita Lipik 3x3 Challenger, featuring a whopping 13 of the Top 15 teams in the FIBA 3x3 Team Ranking in Lipik, Croatia on June 30 and July 1 2017.

After getting an automatic spot in 3 World Tour Masters (Debrecen, Mexico City and Prague) based on their #1 rank in the FIBA 3x3 Team Ranking at the end of last season, Novi Sad Al Wahda earned their ticket to 3 more Masters (Chengdu, Lausanne and Utsunomiya) by shining in challengers, these international tournaments which qualify 2 teams to the World Tour directly.

The Cedevita Lipik 3x3 Challenger is the only qualifier to the Saskatoon Masters, located in Europe. As a result, the best teams in the Old Continent and just the best teams in the World period will be in attendance. Team Saskatoon (CAN) and Hamamatsu (JPN) - who have already clinched their ticket to Canada - are in fact the only 2 teams missing from the Top 15 in the world!!!

The 16 participating teams will also be eyeing the 10,000 USD in prize money.

The event takes place from 2 to 10pm (GMT+2) on Friday June 30 and from 6.20 to 10.30pm on Saturday July 1 and will be livestreamed on the official FIBA 3x3 YouTube channel.
