31 May 2018

MIES (FIBA 3x3 U23 Nations League) - The FIBA 3x3 U23 Nations League comes back Friday June 1, 2018 for a second season with the number of teams doubling from 6 to 12.

After a successful first edition which saw Hungary's women and Slovenia's men win gold, the league welcomes back founding members Czech Republic, Hungary, Japan, Netherlands, Sri Lanka and Uganda and brings newcomers  China, France, Indonesia, Mongolia, Russia and Ukraine.

The League is an ongoing opportunity for the future talents to hone their skills in preparation for the FIBA 3x3 World Cup, multi-sport games and future Olympic Games. It fits with FIBA’s intention of playing the various multi-sport games with an U23 rule as the logical sequel of the Youth Olympic Games (“YOG”): “From the YOG to the Olympic Games via the multi-sport games”.

National federations participating in the program must enrol 1 team per gender to each stop of the FIBA 3x3 U23 Nations League.

Teams participating in the FIBA 3x3 U23 Nations League are divided into 2 conferences:

Each conference will have 6 one-day events, starting with the first stop of the Africa and Asia conference in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on June 1, 2018.

The top 3 teams of each conference will play the final of the 3x3 U23 Nations League 2018 in Hyderabad (India) on September 22-23.

The event will be livestreamed on FIBA 3x3's official YouTube channel.
