Biggest ever temporary venue sold out at FIBA 3x3 World Cup 2019

21 Jun 2019

AMSTERDAM (Netherlands) - Tickets were sold out in a pool game session of the FIBA 3x3 World Cup 2019, which takes place in Amsterdam, Netherlands on June 18-23.

A total of 2,561 fans converged to Museumplein in the heart of the Dutch capital to watch the last pool game session of the FIBA 3x3 World Cup. The menu included a series of nail-biting games, including a do-or-die game between the Dutch hosts and USA, which got the city louder than a Martin Garrix concert.

The 2,561 mark set a new record for an outdoor venue in a FIBA 3x3 competition.

The Philippine Arena - of a capacity of 55,000 seats - became the biggest-ever indoor venue for a FIBA 3x3 competition last year at the FIBA 3x3 World Cup.

The action continues for another 2 days in front of the Rijksmuseum, with the quarter-finals on Saturday and the end of the knock-out rounds on Sunday, June 23, 2019.
