The event will be held from May 30 to June 4 with the biggest 3x3 stars playing in Vienna's Rathausplatz.

With up to 3,000 seats, spectators will see 20 teams per gender fighting for victories from morning to night. A total of 15,000 people are expected every day in the arena and in the fan zone, where everything will breathe basketball and urban street culture, with also food trucks and bars.

"For years, the 3x3 events in Austria have been the international gold standard. In addition, we have established ourselves as a top nation with strong performances. Being able to host the World Cup in your own country now is the reward for the hard work of the last few years," says Basketball Austria President Gerald Martens.

"This World Cup will be the biggest basketball spectacle that domestic and international fans have ever experienced. This is a huge thank you to the City of Vienna and the Federal Ministry of Sports as well as our partner, especially the main sponsor Win2day, without whom an event of this magnitude would not be possible," says Martens.

Free admission: A basketball festival for really everyone

An essential part of the meteoric rise of the 3x3 basketball scene in Austria from the very beginning was that the youth could be enthusiastic about the young discipline. "We have invested a lot so that even more children and young people come into contact with the most beautiful sport in the world and the many local talents are promoted. This 3x3 World Cup is a logical continuation of this course for me,“ explains Johannes Wiesmann, General Manager of the Austrian Basketball Federation.

This refers to the fact that although superstars from 40 teams are fighting for gold medals in the posh city center of Vienna, everyone can really be there live.

Because: Admission is free! The seats in the stadium are allocated according to the "first-come-first-serve principle". So coming early will be necessary to get a seat in the stadium. "We are expecting a big rush. Already in Graz, the demand for tickets exceeded the available seats. In Vienna, the best event venue in the country, this will be another completely different number,“ Wiesmann predicts. If you want to make sure that you want to experience the stars up close, you can www.3x3wm.at secure one of the few reserved seats in the stadium. If you want it exclusively, you can also experience the FIBA 3x3 Welmeitsterschaft presented by win2day in the huge VIP area - on the VIP grandstand or even in one of the strictly limited boxes.

At the FIBA 3x3 World Cup, several courts will be set up on the town hall Square, where there will always be something going on. 3x3 KnabberNossi School Jam, a 3x3 tournament of wheelchair basketball, and a 3x3 exhibition of the Austrian College Sports League (ACSL): the entire basketball family will be there at the Rathausplatz. The fans will also be able to demonstrate their 3x3 skills at numerous participation stations.

See you in Vienna!
