3x3 is open to everyone and public and private promoters are equally welcome to organise FIBA 3x3-endorsed events and join the competition network.

This said, national basketball federations can play a major role in the development of the game. In addition to having at least one dedicated staff member to 3x3 , the main activities of a national federation are as follows:

• Use the FIBA 3x3 Backend to follow and supervise activity in its territory
• Generate activity by directly organizing events and encourage other promoters to do so
• Promote the use of FIBA’s freeware to run events
• Invest in youth programs such as the FIBA 3x3 Nations League
• Select, train and promote a strong national team and participate in FIBA 3x3 national team competitions
• Organize official FIBA 3x3 competitions
• Incentivize nationals to play in the FIBA 3x3 professional season
• Raise awareness of 3x3 in its territory
• Introduce 3x3 in schools and academies
• Organize skills camps
