3x3

3x3 is a one-hoop-only basketball game played by 3 players (and one substitute) on each team, which was added to the Olympic Program (starting from the Tokyo 2020 Games) on June 9, 2017.

3x3 Competition Network

3x3 Competition Network is a FIBA-steered hierarchised system of 3x3 competitions integrating and comprising of the 3x3 Official Competitions as well as all (and only) FIBA-endorsed events.

3x3 Official Competitions

FIBA 3x3 Official National Team Competitions (Olympic Games, Youth Olympic Games, FIBA 3x3 World Cups, FIBA 3x3 Zone Cups, FIBA 3x3 Nations League and Qualifiers to FIBA 3x3 Official National Team Competitions) and the FIBA 3x3 Pro Circuit (FIBA 3x3 World Tour, FIBA 3x3 Challengers and FIBA 3x3 Women's Series)

3x3 World Tour

A 3x3 competition organized under supervision of FIBA and comprised of several World Tour Masters and one World Tour Final, with teams representing a city participating in each event; players are free to form teams

3x3 World Tour Qualifier

A 3x3 competition organized by a FIBA-designee where at least one team qualifies for the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Masters; there are two kind of 3x3 Qualifiers: Quests and Challengers.

3x3 Quest

A 3x3 Qualifier comprised of at least three inter-connected events, with at least 150 participating teams in all categories and events

3x3 Super Quest

An invitational Quest of stand-alone nature with the participation of at least teams from 3 different countries in the region

3x3 Challenger

A premium World Tour Qualifier comprised of one stand-alone, international tournament with prize money, which is generally limited to 16 male teams (invitational or through qualification).

3x3 Lite Quest

A Lite Quest (formerly known as "satellite") is a 3x3 Tour or single event that is yet too small to be eligible to be a direct WT Qualifier – therefore winning teams of these events are directed by FIBA to suitable 3x3 Challengers.

3x3 Women's Series

The first-ever FIBA 3x3 competition dedicated to women, launched in 2019. Each team represents their national federation at the Women’s Series.

3x3 Individual World Ranking

3x3 Individual World Ranking is a ranking of all players registered in play.fiba3x3.com based on the ranking points collected at FIBA-endorsed events

3x3 Federation Ranking

3x3 Federation Ranking is the ranking of all National Federations based on the 3x3 Individual World Ranking points of their top 25 nationals (with a confirmed FIBA 3x3 account) in the respective category (men, women, U23 men, U23 women, U18 men, U18 women)

3x3 Backend

3x3 Backend is a database that allows Zones and National Federations to extract reports, follow the 3x3 activity on their respective territory and register players to national-team based 3x3 Official Competitions

The 12.00 UTC hours of the day in which the 3x3 Federation Ranking is calculated to determine the qualified teams to events such as the World Cup or the Olympic Games
